In my opinion, YES. You should definitely get travel insurance for Panama!

Being a frugal person with a long history of paying insurance premiums and rarely cashing in on the benefits, I never used to buy travel insurance. Adding on the $60-$80 fee to my plane ticket felt a lot like buying those unnecessary extended warranties.
